Location:

Ferens Art Gallery

Event Starts:

21st January 2017

Event Ends:

12th March 2017

2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Ferens hugely popular annual Open exhibition providing the opportunity for local amateur and professional artists to celebrate creativity side by side.

This year the three highly respected external selectors are Dr Gabriele Finaldi, Director of the National Gallery, the Hull born actress Maureen Lipman CBE and the internationally renowned sculptor and Royal Academician David Mach.

Artists age 16 and above are being urged to get creative and prepare up to three pieces of art made within the last 12 months.

The 50th Open Exhibition will also be innovative as the process for entering works has been significantly simplified, streamlined and updated to an entirely online digital submission. This means that all artists will register online and submit photos of their artwork for the consideration of the selectors via a specially designed website. Only successful artists will be required to deliver their artworks to the Gallery and all notifications will be made by email.
