This is the first exhibition dedicated to the work of Edith Farmiloe. Between 1895 and 1909, this self-taught artist wrote about and illustrated the lives of children living in her husband’s parish in Soho, and later in South Hackney.
Edith’s work demonstrates a natural affinity with children. She shared their joys and humours, jealousies and kindnesses and all the other quick emotions that make up the drama of childhood.
This exhibition is located on the First Floor of the Treasure House, Champney Road, Beverley.
Free exhibition. Saturday 6th May to 8th July 2017.
