Rhinoceros Wheelbarrow


This wheelbarrow was made in Hull by local furniture makers Richardson & Sons. Joseph Armytage Wade used this wheelbarrow in a ceremony to mark the start of building the Hull to Hornsea Railway. The wheelbarrow was carved in the shape of a rhino because a rhino featured in Joseph Wade’s family crest.
