BA (Hons) Fashion Student studying on the fashion degree programme at Hull School of Art & Design (part of Hull College Group) were given the challenge to design a contemporary collection of garments whose silhouette and style were influenced by the lifestyle of Amy Johnson. Students researched her love of designer clothes, her famous plane ‘Jason’, the Gipsy Moth in which she flew from Great Britain to Australia, the structure and flight of moths and the original features of the trench coat. The final collection is an eclectic mix of colours and fabric to produce a rain-wear and jacket collection, lingerie, day and evening-wear and that every important piece of millinery to give an outfit that final je ne sais quoi!
