Heather Lane is an independent curator and cultural heritage consultant. She developed an interest in Inuit art during ten years working as Librarian and Keeper of Collections at the Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge. She has travelled extensively in the Arctic and has curated several exhibitions in the UK, bringing the work of contemporary Inuit artists to public attention. This fascinating talk will cover the importance of the whale in Inuit culture and the interpretation of the natural world in Inuit art.
