10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Do you enjoy sewing or embroidery? Do you like getting together with like-minded people? Goole Museum needs you to come along to the first meeting of the Inclesmoor Map Embroidery Project on 10th October from 10am to 12pm.
What is the Inclesmoor Map? It is a 600 year old map of this area held at the National Archives. It is their oldest map! Museum volunteers are creating an exhibition for 2019 based on the Inclesmoor Map. We want to create a new version of the map to display as part of the exhibition, think Bayeux tapestry, but not on so large a scale. Could you help us?
Come along to the meeting and have a cuppa while Jill Hall of the Selby Embroiderer’s Guild talks you through the project. All materials will be provided and at this session participants will get the opportunity to practice the stitches that will be used and discuss the project.
Even if you haven’t done anything like this before but fancy having a go, please do come along. Throughout the project we will have regular get-togethers to stitch as a group and talk about progress, alongside a cuppa and a biscuit – or two!
Be part of our exciting project, and bring a new piece of textile art to life.
