Humber Museums Partnership - Hull History Centre

The History Centre brings together the material held by the City Archives and Local Studies Library, with those held by the University of Hull. Material includes the City’s borough archives; records relating to the port and docks of Hull; papers reflecting Hull’s maritime history; papers of notable individuals including Andrew Marvell, Philip Larkin, Amy Johnson and William Wilberforce; and over 100,000 photographs, illustrations; maps and plans relating to Hull and the East Riding.

WHAT’S HERE

The Hull History Centre brings together collections of local, regional and national importance relating to the city of Hull and the surrounding areas, Hull’s maritime history, its World War 2 records, political figures and pressure groups and prominent figures in literature and drama.

The Hull History Centre holds a significant amount of material relating to the First World War. These can also be found online on the Hull History Centre website.

Admission to the Hull History Centre is free.
