Artists Juneau Projects will be offering a series of online workshops and activity packs to make illustrations of local birds especially Humber Estuary wading birds like lapwing, avocet and curlew. The workshops will feature techniques such as printing with lino blocks, paper-cutting, painting and drawing. You will be able to sign up for a workshop and receive a kit of materials to work with.
Workshops will happen online with Ben and Phil from Juneau Projects. There will also be activity kits available to work offline.
The finished illustrations will be used in an artists book featuring all the images produced during the project. The finished book will be given to all participants and will be on sale at North Lincolnshire Museum.
We have asked local bird watchers to send us their stories and experiences, which could end up featured in a new book project alongside bird illustrations by local people. We have also asked local photographers to share with us their images of local birds, which will then be used in workshops where local people will draw illustrations from them.
We are interested in all kinds of birds from the North Lincolnshire and Humber area, especially Humber Estuary wading birds like lapwing, avocet and curlew.
The project aims to raise awareness of current threats to biodiversity in birds and is a collaboration between Humber Museums Partnership and environmental art organisation Invisible Dust.
